Mysteries of God

Picture: The Awesome Universe!
Is God out there somewhere? How can you prove it? What is God like? Does God care about you?

Is God a myth - the invention of an ignorant, superstitious past?

The world has many religions and many gods. An atheist might ask, "Which one of these gods do you claim for your God? Have you seen him? How do you know he exists? Can you prove it?

These are fair questions. They all deserve an answer!

Why doesn't God show himself to man? The gods of some nations have been carved by men's hands out of wood, stone or other existing materials (Isa. 40:18-20). The gods of some religions have been carved out of human imaginations and faulty human reasonings. Some have worshipped the sun, or other inanimate objects of nature. All these gods are merely created objects - some fashioned by man and therefore inferior to man.

But WHO did the creating? Who brought everything into existence?

True science is based on laws of cause and effect. Scientists know that something cannot come from nothing. So Who or What created all the energy, the forces and matter of the known universe? How did the "natural" laws become established and what sustains them? What is life and how did it begin? Who endowed some of it with intelligence? Is not this God? Is not He superior to all else that is called "God"? He, alone, is GOD!

But if scientists haven't found God, How can we? Some therefore conclude there is no God!

Stop and think! If there is a Creator God, having supreme intelligence, power, love and wisdom to think out, plan, design, and bring about all creation -- this awesome universe, the earth and all life including man upon it -- would that God have left human beings in ignorance of His existence and of the purpose for their being here? And would He not reveal to them the knowledge that would bring them peace, happiness, joy and everything good, including eternal life, that man has been striving to attain since the beginning?

Articles in the Mysteries of God files will examine these and other questions concerning the mysteries of God. Check also the Mystery of Salvation files.
