Friday April 21, 1995
After the last day of Unleavened Bread, Mr. Fred Whitlark, a local elder, Mr. David Blue, a deacon, and their families found it too difficult to continue meeting with the WCG congregation in Boise. This was a total of 9 people.
Sabbath April 22, 1995
Not knowing where this would lead, they met at the Blue's home the following Sabbath to listen to tapes with their families. There were 11 people there that first week.
Sabbath April 29, 1995
The next Sabbath, another family joined them for the taped sermons (provided from the Pasadena West A.M. congregation where loyal ministers were still preaching the truth...). There were 17 people present.
Sunday April 30 to May 2, 1996
The next week Mr. Whitlark went to Indianapolis in hopes that something would come of the meetings there. The Boise group donated a little money, which he gave to those putting on the conference, to help pay for some of the costs.
Sabbath May 6, 1995
Several more people heard of the little group meeting in the home and asked to join them. After services Mr. Whitlark reviewed what had happened at Indianapolis. It soon became apparent that God's hand working with those who had met in Indiana. The Boise group chose to affiliate themselves with the United Church of God, AIA in May, 1995. There were 30 people attending. (In 1994, according to the printout that Pasadena sent the Festival Advisor, there were a total of 310 people shown as being part of the Boise WCG. It certainly appears that God chose almost a tithe of them to start UCG in Boise). It became evident that the Blue's living room was running out of room. The search for a place to meet was started.
Sabbath May 13, 1995
First "full-blown" UCG service. Mr. Berg gave the sermon. There were about 35 people present.
Sabbath May 20, 1995
There were about 41 people present. The Blue's family room had become an over flow room when their family room filled up. The Masonic Lodge, in Nampa, was secured for Sabbath Services. Nampa is about 20 miles West of Boise.
Sabbath May 27, 1995
First services held at the Masonic Lodge. This was a real blessing. The rent turned out to be less then what they had first said. The up stairs meeting hall will allow us considerable growth. We have use of the whole building, which includes a kitchen and hall for eating in the basement, for almost every Sabbath. Within a very few weeks we were given our own keys to the building. Now one of the hardest things to do is to find the building manager. He only comes by on Sabbaths if he has some work to do.
Now, one year later, we have a congregation of over 60 people. Each week we enjoy a potluck after services. We've been through a great deal together and truly enjoy one another and the fellowship on the Sabbath.
We have truly been blessed here in the Boise area. Last May we had Mr. Bob Dick, who was our regional pastor at the time, speak to us. On July 20, 1996 Mr. David Hulme was here.
